Our Services

We are fully endorsed by the State of Indiana to be able to offer the BRC1 (Basic Rider Course), the 3-Wheel BRC, and we are also available for the State Skills Testing to assist you in getting a full Indiana Motorcycle Operators Endorsement on your Indiana Drivers License. Our coaches are trained by the State of Indiana through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) curriculum and we provide classes almost every weekend beginning each year in the Spring.

What to expect | BRC1 (BASIC RIDER COURSE)

  • Learn to ride a two-wheeled motorcycle and have the option to choose from a Yamaha® V-Star 250, Yamaha® XT 250, Yamaha® MT-03, and Harley-Davidson® Street 500.

  • Get in-class and on-range instruction from Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) Certified Coaches.

  • Learn to safely accelerate, shift, brake, and turn, along with maneuvers like controlling skids and surmounting obstacles.

  • Earn a Basic Rider Course Completion Card, which will score you a discount on motorcycle insurance.

  • Receive your motorcycle endorsement upon successful completion.

3-Wheel BRC

This is the best place to start once you’ve made the decision to ride a 3-wheel motorcycle, whether the two wheels are in the back or the front. Successful completion of this course, consisting of classroom activities and on-cycle riding exercises, plus knowledge and skills tests, will award you your 3-wheel motorcycle endorsement. You may bring your own 3-wheel motorcycle, or one may be provided. Please contact us if you are interested in taking a 3-wheel course.

BRC need to know

You will need a valid automobile drivers license or learners permit. You must be at least 15 years old as the endorsement waiver is only valid for one year from the class completion (I.e. you may take the class at 15 years of age with an automobile learners permit, but you will not receive your motorcycle endorsement until you have obtained your drivers license at or after 16 years of age).

You do NOT need your motorcycle permit to take the course. Classes are Friday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 and Saturday and Sunday are from 9:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening. Classes consist of in-person training in a class setting and on-range motorcycle training with one hour breaks on the Saturday and Sunday for lunch with a number of quicker breaks throughout the long day.

The motorcycles are provided but you will be need to provide all of the proper riding gear which includes a long sleeve shirt or jacket, jeans or chaps, sturdy over-the-ankle footwear, full-fingered gloves, a 3/4 or full face helmet that meets DOT approval, and eyewear.

What to expect | Rider Skills Exam

The motorcycle skills test consists of several elements which measure an applicant’s basic control of the motorcycle and response to hazardous situations. The motorcycle skills test consists of the following actions:

  • Cone weave

  • Turning from a stop

  • U-turn

  • Quick stop

  • Obstacle swerve

  • Cornering maneuver

Motorcycle skills tests will not be performed in hazardous weather. However, examiners have experience conducting training in less-than perfect weather and the applicant will not be denied the opportunity to take the skills test as long as the environment is safe.

Rider Skills Test need to know

Tests are given on a first come, first serve basis meaning registration is not necessary. Testing is Tuesday-Thursday from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. You will need to provide a street legal 2 or 3-wheel motorcycle or scooter, helmet, the original hard copy of your motorcycle learners permit, and $25 cash.

We are unable to use a photo of your permit or a print out from the BMV website. There will be a restriction on your motorcycle endorsement if you use a 3-wheeler or scooter to take the test. We cannot provide the test to a non-Indiana resident.
